The SOS HCM system, built specifically to meet the requirements of hardware designers, has been adopted by design groups large and small, local and enterprise-wide, in multinationals and start-ups. In 2010, the company also introduced Visual Design Diff (VDD), which gives users the power to quickly compare two versions of a schematic or layout by graphically highlighting the differences directly in the design editor. “Our IC design group has been using ClioSoft SOS for the last couple of years,” said Dario Gnani, IC Design Engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. “We initially adopted it for a large international collaboration to design the next generation of pixel readout chips for the inner layer of the ATLAS detector installed at CERN LHC.
